Maison DEux MONTILLE Soeur Frère -- 2013s from Cask

Maison DEux MONTILLE Soeur Frère (Meursault)

This is the negociant operation created in 2003 by Alix de Montille and her brother Etienne. Alix is in charge of making the wines, almost all of which are white. The style here is for great purity with intensity, depth, and balance.

2013s  from Cask

2013 Saint-Aubin    Sur Gamay blanc
This wine is smooth and elegant with some grip and nice minerality. It is a good, if not especially complex, wine for casual drinking. (85-88)

2013 Meursault     Casses Têtes
This wine shows minerality in a body that is light, but there is good concentration here and some Meursault oiliness to the texture. 10% new oak here. (86-89)

2013 Rully   blanc
Rully for some time has been increasing in popularity as a source for wines of quality that compares with many Côte de Beaune wines, but at a much lower price. No exception here. The wine is medium-light and pure with good minerality and grip. (87-90)

2013 Chablis Grand Cru  --  Les Preuses
The nose is still quite primary here. The mouth is pure and crystalline with some body and some grapefruit peel flavors. Plenty of length and intensity here. (91-95)

2013 Puligny-Montrachet

This wine is medium-weight, rich, and intense with good depth, minerality, precision, and acidity. In short, it is excellent village Puligny. (89-92)
