Domaine Pierre GUILLEMOT: 2012s from Bottle

Domaine Pierre GUILLEMOT (Savigny-les-Beaune)
2012s from Bottle

2012 Savigny-les-Beaune    Dessus les Gollardes  blanc
This wine is 30% Chardonnay and 70% Pinot Blanc. It has richness, moderate acidity, some caramel, and is light, airy, and pretty. It is quite different from most white Burgundy and even from most white Savigny. It should be capable of aging 10-15 years, at least. 86+/B

2012 Bourgogne rouge
This wine is from 50 year-old vines. It features mineral red fruits, especially strawberries, in the nose and mouth and is medium-light and pure. The wine shows some tannins and may already be entering a closed phase. 86/B+

2012 Savigny-les-Beaune   Les Grands Picotins
The wine features mineral aromas that characterize Savigny to me. The mouth shows more weight and more darkness to the fruit than in the Bourgogne. The wine is light in the mouth, but there are some tannins here to support aging. 87+/B

2012 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru – Les Serpentières

This wine is not necessarily heavier than the Grands Picotins, but the extra class from a premier cru vineyard is evident, and there is good nervosity to the red fruits. This is a good example of Serpentières and one that should be able to age for several decades. 91/A-
